Violation Description: Mr X complained Porthaven Care Homes No 3 Limited (the Care Provider) failed to provide adequate care to his wife, Mrs X during her respite stay for ten nights in the autumn of 2020. We found the Care Provider failed to identify an illness Mrs X was suffering from and to administer medicine in good time. We also found fault in the Care Provider's record keeping. The Care Provider agreed to apologise to Mr X and pay him £150 to recognise the uncertainty and distress caused to him.
