Violation Description: Mrs X complained Fairby Grange care home (the care provider) unfairly terminated her late grandfather, Mr F's contact at short notice while he was in hospital. The care provider was at fault because it failed to adequately record or document its decision making when it decided terminate Mr F's contract with immediate effect. It also failed to follow Competition and Markets Authority guidance. The care provider agreed to apologise to Mrs X and pay her £150 to acknowledge the distress and uncertainty caused to her. It also agreed to review the terms and conditions on its contract around how it handles short notice contract terminations due to resident behaviour.
