Violation Description: ESB Independent Generation Trading Limited and Carrington Power Limited agreed to pay £6 million to the energy redress fund in settlement of a finding by Ofgem that they submitted inaccurate data to National Grid Electricity System Operator (NGESO) about the amount of energy a power plant could supply, breaking rules around market manipulation. NGESO in turn bought more energy from the plant than needed, leading to higher costs for consumers.
